Fireplace
It is rather unusual to find fireplace in a Windmill given flammable nature of flour and wooden machinery but there are examples of mills with them. The Wheatley mill has not one but two fireplaces on opposing sides of the Ground floor. The flue of each fireplace is built into the tower walls, and they exit nearer the top of the Tower through a pair of slits in the outer wall.
The reason for two fireplaces may be a consideration for usage irrespective of wind direction. However it is not known how often or under what circumstances the fireplaces where used.
