Ladders

To reach the Stone floor from the Ground Floor the mill has a set of Stairs. Whereas the Stone floor is reached by a set of narrow Stairs the top two floors (the Bin floor and the Cap) of the mill are reached by a sets of ladders. Both ladders are found on the Littleworth side of the mill.

The ladders have been replaced during the restoration and due to fact that the mill is open to the public the new ladders have had to make some concessions to health and safety. This means that the new ladders are more substantial and have handrails, luxuries not afforded in the original design.

The pictures above show the new ladders. The first picture is the ladder from the Stone Floor to the Bin Floor. The second is the view from the top of this ladder looking down. The last picture is the ladder from the Bin Floor up to the Cap.
